I cry because I live
I feel-
Sun in my hair
Freezing rain on a tender cheek
Soft blankets against warm skin
The empty space beside me
I feel because I give-
Presents with no reason
A hug to steal your sadness
A kiss to burry my own
A smile
My love-

To love by degrees is to live be degrees.
I cry because I live.

My Funny Valentine Somewhere
between Ella and a violin
I drift
barefeet on parque flooring
dancing in the spaces between notes.
Spaces buzzing, cloying, sweet-
as thick as all that.
Is it surprising that it's hard to move?
In honesty…
I'd rather stay,
adrift

Tuckered In I am cold –
I pull the blankets up,
tuck them in beneath my chin.
Synthetic fibers,
soft against naked skin,
warming lonely flesh.

I have been hugged before,
and held –
and I have held another:
Body pressed to body
flesh to flesh.
Body heat is a lively, comforting warmth.

But embraces end –
all things change in time.
Warm then –
now I am cold.
I pull the blankets up,
tuck them in beneath my chin.
Synthetic fibers,
soft against naked skin,

And Back Again Today
I walked the sidewalk with my eyes closed.
I wanted to be in the sun.
But it hurt –

So…
I let the world be red
behind closed lids.
I let the clammy
flower pungent breeze
raise goosebumps on my flesh.

Today
I walked the sidewalk with my eyes closed.
I wanted to Weep-
Or Laugh
But it hurt –

So…
I walked blind
crooked

As was requested by a friend the two poems I took off so that I could submit them to magazine people (who just never got back to me) have been reposted. At least here they can be enjoyed and not hidden in my computer.
Does nayone have any suggestions for reasonably ligit places to submit poetry and short stories for publication?

Anywho. Life's good. I need to do more writing that is not essay related.
Thats about it.

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?
